Black Stilt

It’s always a pleasure when we get a call from someone out of the blue and needing help with a design project. John and Nola Harvey fell in love with the stunningly beautiful and remote Waitaki Valley. The remote upper reaches of the valley provide a vital refuge for the Black Stilt/Kakī – the world’s rarest wading bird. This name was the starting point for their wine labels.

We found Creative Practice through a website search when we started in the wine business about 8 years ago and have been very pleased with their design work ever since. Today, we know that we just have to outline the sort of idea we want to achieve and can safely leave it to them to come up with innovative working solutions. I can’t remember ever having to ask for anything other than minor modifications to what they produce first up.
